This was supposed to be just a quick inking and coloring. Just a quick inking and coloring of a doodle I did in class one day, I told myself, and I could hit the hay at a reasonable hour. It is now nearly 3 AM, and I am not quite functioning mentally, but I'm okay with this. Tried to go way further on color choices and lighting especially, trying some new techniques too with the colored lines. Also trying a new filter since it seemed to fit- not sure if I like it more than my usual clean lines.
Oh, yeah, and the character in the middle is Anne Thoreau, a little comic idea I've had for a while now. She's an anthropologist, so she travels all around the world studying new strange cultures and getting herself involved in all sorts of adventures. I'll probably end up doing one or more concept pieces of story ideas I have involving her. I'm not too keen on the safari outfit, I wanna come up with something more iconic, but that'll be for another day.
I love how your worlds feel really coherent. Like, the characters, the plants, the buildings... they all feel like they fit together. That's really important when you have a very stylized way of drawing, and your work always looks great!
Thank you so much! C: In truth, I really want to work on my environments. I still feel like I don't give them as much love as my characters... I want to keep pushing my art further and find my own way of doing things, like how you've got such a distinct style of drawing.
