First page for a comic I collaborated with the super-awesome :iconmyhatseatpeople: - I did the lines, she did the colors. For a project spurred by late-night conversations, we did pretty good.

The way the two characters are in separate panels at the top made me want to read one column of speech bubbles and then the other.

Good point! Any tips on how to encourage reading one character's bubble and then the other?

I'm not really sure, but maybe if both sets overlapped the gutter and there was more staggering the bubbles? Like put more room between the "Hey Hats" and "What are we doing..." and pushed her "Yeh?" bubble in closer between them, but if you did it that way, you might not have room for so much dialog. Maybe you could make the line of bubbles more diagonal, like shoving "You mean wasted" right up under "Yep, and we all got together..." it and moving "same thing" a little to the right?

You could probably just mess around with it for a little while and come up with something better than I just did, haha.
